抗战期间,广东英德有一所我党创办的学校——英东中学。学校坐落在英德县东部地区东乡的桥头。东乡人民素有革命传统,早在上个世纪20年代就发生过我党领导的著名的“鱼湾暴动”。东乡现有的7个乡镇都是老区,是粤北有名的革命根据地之一。中共北江特委于1939年重新恢复后,党内称为“家长”的特委书记黄松坚很重视国民党地区的学校工作,先后派了不少党员到各地中小学校任教。既向青少年灌输革命思想,也通过学生家长进行群众工作。1942年北江特委创办了一所合法的私立英东中学。该校虽历尽艰辛,但诸如立案、校舍、经费、师资以及被国民党当局怀疑、刁难等困难,都逐一克服,并做出卓有成效的成绩。
During the war of resistance against Japan, Guangdong Yingde had a school founded by our party - Yingdong Middle School. The school is located in the eastern part of Yingde County Dongxiang bridge. People in Dongxiang are known to have a revolutionary tradition. As early as the 1920s, the famous “Fish Bay Riot” led by our party had occurred. Dongxiang existing seven towns are the old quarter, is one of the famous revolutionary base in northern Guangdong. After the resumption of the Beijiang Special Commission of the CPC in 1939, Huang Songjian, secretary of the special committee called the “Parents” within the Party, attached great importance to the work of the school in the Kuomintang area and sent many party members to teach in elementary and secondary schools throughout the country. It not only instills revolutionary ideas into young people, but also provides mass work to parents through their parents. In 1942 Beijiang Special Commission established a legal private Yingdong High School. Despite its hardships, the school has overcome many difficulties, such as filing cases, school buildings, funding, teachers and difficulties suspected by the Kuomintang authorities and making things difficult, and has made fruitful achievements.
