Karl Chang arrived in China in late 2004, soon after graduating from flight school in his native Canada. A chance meeting with the vice president of a Chinese airline who was visiting Changs school had materialized into a job interview in Beijing with Tianjin Okay Airways, one of Chinas fledgling start-up private airlines.
