一、中国共产党第十六次全国代表大会召开。大会选举产生了新一届中央委员会和中央纪律检查委员会。提出了在我国全面建设小康社会的奋斗目标。二、我国经济增长率将达到8%左右,全年国内生产总值将跨上10万亿元新台阶,实现历史性突破。三、国家出台《关于上市公司涉及外商投资有关问题的若干意见》、《关于向外商转让上市公司国有股和法人股有关问题的通知》等政策,我国对外开放领域进一步扩大。四、11月6日,三峡导流明渠顺利合龙,这是三峡工程建设的里程碑。五、我国成功申办2010年上海世界博览会。六、反腐败斗争取得新成果。河北省原副省长丛福奎、中国建设银行原行长王雪冰、光大银行原行长朱小华等腐败分子被查处。七、南水北调、青藏铁路、西气东输管道工程等13个国家重点工程启动。八、城市居民最低生活保障制度建设进一步加强,截至10月份,全国城市领取低保金的人数已达
