党的十五大以来的5年,是改革开放以来我国民族工作又一重要发展时期。各级民族工作部门高举邓小平理论伟大旗帜,以“三个代表”重要思想为指导,服从和服务于发展大局,与时俱进,开拓创新,不断实现好、维护好、发展好各民族群众的根本利益,加快了少数民族和民族地区的发展步伐,增强了各民族的大团结,党的民族政策更加深入人心,社会主义民族关系更加巩固。这一时期的民族工作,有许多方面值得认真总结。
Five years since the 15th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has been another important period for the development of our ethnic work since the reform and opening up. National work departments at all levels hold high the great banner of Deng Xiaoping Theory, take the important thinking of the ’Three Represents’ as a guide, obey and serve the overall interests of the development, keep pace with the times, blaze new trails and constantly realize, safeguard and develop the people of all ethnic groups Fundamental interests have accelerated the pace of development of ethnic minorities and ethnic regions and enhanced the great unity of all ethnic groups. The party’s ethnic policy has deepened popular support and the ethnic relations among the socialist countries have been further consolidated. Many aspects of ethnic work during this period deserve serious consideration.
