Dixie Chemical Company is a small business. Its products are mainly special organic compounds. The company owned a plant hiring 51 operators and support staff, day and night continuous production. Prior to the installation of a decentralized control unit in 1980, all automatic control systems consisted of pneumatic instruments in addition to the thermocouples. Device Expansion The improved device was produced by mixing the two components in compound proportions; heating the mixture; retaining the mixture in the reaction tank until a predetermined pressure was reached; and then withdrawing the final product from the inverted tank top.
