每天45分钟的火车,是很多上班族日日重复的两点一线的主题。虽然乏味,可是在纽约和新泽西的列车上,这条连接着所谓城市和乡村、喧嚣和宁静的纽带里,经常演出一幕幕的活剧。那天下班,人们照样挤上车, 车厢前面有一个座位,两个认识的人正互相谦让。这时走过来一位黑人妇女,她看了那两个人一眼,说: “你们坐不坐?不坐我坐了。”说着, 她就坦然地坐下。那两个人相互看了一眼,无奈地摇摇头。
The 45-minute trains a day are the two-and-one-line theme that many office workers repeat every day. Although tedious, on the trains in New York and New Jersey, this live drama, which links the so-called urban and rural areas, hustle and serenity, is frequently performed. When they got off work that day, people still got into the car. There was a seat in front of the car. The two people knowing each other were humbly giving each other. Then came a black woman. She looked at the two people and said, “You sit down and you don’t sit there.” Then she sat down calmly. The two people looked at each other and shook their heads helplessly.
