一艺术的发展有其客观规律,但又受制于人的历史环境。中国近代绘画上的写实主义的出现,不像欧洲那样始于某种流派或理论主张,而是因为它最切合中国的国情、历史环境及文化环境的需要。对20世纪初的中国来讲,最迫切的不是高雅的个性化的相对纯粹的艺术,而是通俗的、共性强的、易于发挥战斗的、功利性的写实性艺术。因而,写实主义绘画能得到广泛而热情的反响。中国传统的文人水墨,尽管拥有思想精神和内涵,但它长期封闭在一个传统的传播方式
The development of an art has its own objective laws, but it is also subject to the historical circumstances of the people. The appearance of realism in modern Chinese painting does not start from a genre or theory as in Europe but because it best meets the needs of China’s national conditions, historical environment and cultural environment. For China at the beginning of the 20th century, the most urgent is not the elegant, relatively pure art of personalization but the realistic, utilitarian and realistic art that is popular, common and powerful. Thus, realist painting can be widely and enthusiastic response.
