由美国音乐学家、音乐教育家约瑟夫·马克利斯(Joseph Machlis)与克里斯廷·福尼(Kristine Forney)编撰的《The Enjoyment Of Music》第一版于1955年由美国诺顿出版公司(W.W.Norton&Company)出版,迄今已逾50年。半个多世纪以来,该著不仅一直是美国与很多国家的音乐学院和综合大学音乐专业本科生及研究生的主要教学用书,而且,我国也曾经正式出版过该著的两个版本——人民音乐出版社1987年12月出版的《西方音乐欣赏》(刘可希译)以及2010年9月出版的《音乐欣赏圣经》(上下册,徐康荣译)。
The first edition of The Enjoyment Of Music by American musicologist and music educator Joseph Machlis and Kristine Forney was published in 1955 by the U.S. company Norton Press Norton & Company, has been published for over 50 years. For more than half a century, this book has not only been the main teaching book for undergraduate and graduate students majoring in music in the United States and many other countries, but also the two versions of this book, the People’s Music Press “Western Music Appreciation” (translated by Liu Kexi) published in December 1987, and “Music Appreciation Bible” (Volume 1, translated by Xu Kangrong) published in September 2010.
