机械法镀复的保护金属层之所以能在汽车工业首先采用,据认为具有如下的理由: (1) 使紧固件具有令人满意的扭矩与锁紧力; (2) 由于不存在氢脆问题,保证了产品的可靠性; (3) 简化了镀复作业和工艺废物的处理; (4) 能防止零件腐蚀; (5) 可进行多元金属镀层的镀复。目前,汽车工业趋向于减轻重量,所以都用轻金属来制造汽车。为此,紧固件及其上的镀复层亦必须适应与双金属表面相接触的需要。新的机械镀复法的研究,能使紧固件的镀层满足联接双金属零件的需要并有希望使成本降低。
