The China-UK Highway and Urban Transport Conference, held on the basis of the intergovernmental scientific and technological cooperation agreement between China and the United Kingdom, was held in Beijing from November 17 to November 21, 1986. Wang Zhanyi, Vice Minister of Communications and Vice President of China Highway Society, made an opening speech at the meeting.
