2007年春季的一天,我突然接到合肥市政府的通知,让我前去洽谈某重要设计项目。经了解,才知是我们去年犹豫再三而放弃参加的全国设计投标项目:渡江战役纪念馆。当时因时间给得太少而婉拒了邀请。时过一年,我又受命前往,心情十分复杂。经主管领导介绍,方知上次中标方案较为勉强,领导小组对选中的方案一直心存疑虑。时间过得很快,当选取的方案基本完成施工图、准备开工奠基时,领导小组才下决心请我们再出几个方案来进行比较。也许是受合肥市政府对我们信任的激励,在很短时间内我带领团队拿出了三个创意方案。方案均采用了象征主义手法,直观表达“渡江战役”主题思想,建筑语言也都强调简而有力。其中方案一的“渡船”创意构思得到了决策层的一致认可,很快敲定为中选方案,并指示实施和落实。原选定的设计单位经合理补偿退出了项目。事后我总结思考:为什么我们的设计方案被大家认可选用?在创作与技术层面上也许可以列出许多因素,但我最终总结为一条,即“简形的力量”发挥了决定性作用。
One day in the spring of 2007, I suddenly received a notice from the Hefei municipal government, let me go to negotiate an important design project. After understanding, I discovered that we hesitate last year and give up to participate in the national design tender: Dujiang Memorial Museum. The time was too little and declined the invitation. A year later, I was ordered to go, the mood is very complicated. Introduced by the competent leadership, we know that the last successful bidding program was rather reluctant, and the leading group has always been doubts about the selected program. Time flies, when the selected program basically completed construction plans, ready to start laying the foundation, the leadership team was determined to ask us to come out a few more programs to compare. May be inspired by the trust of Hefei city government, in a very short period of time I led the team came up with three creative programs. The programs adopted the symbolism method, and expressed the theme of “crossing the river battle” intuitively. The construction language also stressed simplicity and strength. Among them, Scheme 1’s “Ferry” creative idea has been unanimously approved by the decision-making level, and soon it will be finalized as a successful election program and will be instructed to implement and implement it. The original design of the selected units with reasonable compensation to withdraw from the project. Afterwards, I summed up my thinking: Why is our design accepted by everyone? Many factors may be listed at the creative and technical level, but I finally conclude that “the power of simplicity” has played a decisive role.
