The First International Conference on Mathematical Modeling and Computer Simulation of Thermal Processing was held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University from March 28 to March 30, 2000. The conference was jointly sponsored by International Federation of Heat Treatment and Surface Engineering, American Society for Metals, China Heat Treatment Society and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and was undertaken by Shanghai Jiaotong University.
