Ori oil is produced in Venezuela. In 1995, crude oil production was 128 million tons, ranking eighth in the world. Venezuela has abundant crude oil resources in addition to its proven reserves of 62 billion barrels of crude oil. A 700km-long, 70km-heavy-heavy crude oil area has been discovered in the Orinoco Strip with a proven reserve of 267 billion barrels (about 42 billion tons), which is equivalent to 1995 Saudi Arabia’s total proven crude oil reserves (258 billion barrels). This superheavy crude oil has an API of 8.0°, a viscosity (50°C) of 6000 to 40000 mpas, and a pour point of 38°C. In 1988, Venezuela and BP jointly researched the technologies and methods for the successful emulsification of ultra-heavy crude oil by injecting additives to dilute the extra heavy crude oil to the ground and send it to the emulsification processing plant to form 70% ultra-heavy crude oil. New non-Newtonian product with 30% emulsion, abbreviated
