As a novelist, Kazuki Kinoshita, a social activist, was tied with Takuyuki Akutadu and did a sharp fight with nationalism and power politics so much that at that time, he was praised for his “great accomplishments and subordinates”. However, by 1906 (Meiji 39), the monk standing under the guise of the first line, Kazuko Mizuhashi, uncharacteristically went so far as to write a series of introspective articles such as “Report Abuse of Friends” and “Repentance,” and depart from the front line of the socialist struggle . Subsequent declarations of conversion to Buddhism by Kinoshita, until his death in 1937, he never saw his courageous gesture again, as if hermits left the world in general. In the end what is the reason behind the Kinoshita “turn”? And how does he “turn”? This will be the issue to be explored in this article.
