In the past, the construction of dams generally required the laying of cooling pipes to force the concrete to cool down. After the longitudinal grouting was completed, the integrity of the dam body was basically completed before water storage and power generation could be achieved. In the early stage of dam construction, part of the cooling water pipe was canceled, and longitudinal grouting at the water edge was adopted. After the power plant started generating electricity in 1971, the dam was safely operated for seven years under sewed conditions. In order to be theoretically analyzed, 515 research groups conducted a large number of observations and research work, that as long as the roof, the seam, grooving and other internal structural measures taken, there is little difference between the working status of the slotted run and the physical dam; at the same time, Under the longitudinal grouting, it is able to successfully implement and ensure the safety of the dam. This provides us with a new enlightenment of simplifying the temperature control measures and shortening the construction cycle of hydropower. However, this issue is related to the major issue of dam safety. The 515 project has its own specific conditions and its scientific research needs to be further deepened. Therefore, the majority of water conservancy and hydropower workers are welcome to give full play to the principle of “one hundred schools of thought” and make full use of technological democratization. The scientific and reasonable demonstration of the results of 515 scientific research groups and the value and significance of their promotion should be encouraged. Discussions should be actively conducted to promote water conservancy and hydropower science Technology development.
