著名汉学家帕特里克·韩南(Patrick Hanan)是英语世界李渔研究第一人,他对李渔及其作品的译介与研究成就斐然且早已为世人瞩目。其李渔研究主要集中于对李渔创新精神的高度评价,对李渔作品自我特征的清晰揭示,对李渔重视休闲与享乐的敏锐洞察,对李渔作品喜剧特征的全面呈现,对李渔作品情色特征的正视五个方面。通过考察韩南的李渔研究,我们发现其治学最为突出的基本特征是坚持文献分析与理论阐发并重及在兼采中西学术之优长的基础上融通中西,这两大特征也是其中国文学研究最基本的研究方法。
The famous scholar Patrick Hanan (Patrick Hanan) is the first person in the world of English studies of Li Yu. His translation and research on Li Yu and his works have achieved remarkable success and attracted worldwide attention. His research on Li Yu mainly focuses on the highly evaluation of Li Yu’s innovative spirit, the clear revelation of Li Yu’s work’s self-characteristics, his keen insight on Li Yu’s emphasis on leisure and enjoyment, his comprehensive presentation of the comedy features of Li Yu’s work, Aspects. By investigating the study of Li Yu in the South of South China, we find that the most prominent basic feature of his scholarship is to adhere to both literature analysis and theoretical elucidation and to integrate Chinese and western cultures based on the merging of Chinese and Western academic strengths. These two characteristics are also the most basic of his study of Chinese literature Research methods.
