This article describes the microcomputer hardware for distributed structure radar digital signal processing. The hardware consists of a microcomputer called a radar processing module (RPM). This module fills the void between dedicated and general purpose digital processing structures that require high-speed bit-processing jobs for radar signal processing. The memory system in RPM consists of internal and external random access memory (RAM) and external read only memory (ROM). ROM contains the operating procedures and inspection procedures, RAM used to store data, calculate subroutines and program execution. This article explains the benefits of distributed architecture for radar digital signal processing.
