陈庄战斗是1939年9月，120师由冀中返回晋察冀边区的第一次战斗，也是一次规模较大的山地歼灭战。此次战斗，120师以相当5个团的兵力及晋察冀4分区独立第5团，在120师及晋察冀军区首长的共同指挥下，全歼日军独立第8混成旅团第31大队，计1200余人，给予了进犯栽边区的敌人以迎头痛击。
