The first issue of Physics Teaching, 1991, 11 pages, published an article by Li Zilin on “Interference Between Offshore Flight and Wave”. The article made a brief analysis of why the aircraft is not easy to find. Here, let us combine the knowledge of Loewe mirror to conduct a comprehensive and systematic analysis, in order to have a better understanding. Figure 1). Set the radar, the aircraft above the sea level H.h, the horizontal distance between the two d. θ is the grazing refraction angle. As the body is relatively small, can be seen as a point; sea level can be seen as a horizontal mirror. Here, h is smaller, the weight is approximately zero. When the aircraft is flying off-shore, it can simultaneously receive two beams of light from the radar and the “mirror” reflection.
