1 The current situation of China’s synthetic rubber The synthetic rubber industry in China is still relatively backward in terms of performance in three aspects. (1) The gap between output and demand is relatively large. As China’s reform and opening up has promoted the development in various fields in recent years, the domestic rubber processing industry has developed rapidly. In 1992, the amount of rubber required was 10 million tons, and by the year 993 it was close to 110 thousand tons, but the total output of domestic synthetic rubber and natural rubber was only limited.
