伦勃朗·哈尔曼松·凡·莱因欧洲17世纪最伟大的画家之一,也是荷兰历史上最伟大的画家。王玉琦,1958年出生,河北清苑人,旅美职业画家。不同时代不同国度的两个艺术家,在艺术方面却有很多的共同点。都喜欢运用集中的光线去描绘笔下的人物,用这种特殊的处理手法表达笔下人物的内在精神世界。从《一个画家的宿命中》可以看出王玉琦对前辈伦勃朗的重崇拜,他还曾经说过“艺术,我始终试图寻找其赖以生存的生命内在质感,即在光滑亮丽的生活表面遮盖下,在世俗的旋涡中沉浸着的人性真实本相,借此介入画家的判断。如同当年,朝圣般的。我站在伦勃朗不只是《夜巡》,而是他晚期作品《圣公会群像》面前,所得到的启示。”
