风暴潮以它强大的作用力使沿岸的地质环境发生重大变化。在这些变化中，有使地质环境向不利于人类生产和生活方向发展的变化，如：破坏沿岸设施、发生海岸的蚀退、造成大面积海水入侵和土地的盐碱化等。同时也应看到，风暴潮的到来，使周围环境发生的另一类变化：环境的清洁、带来充足的水资源及对地下卤水资源的补充等。
With its powerful force, the storm surge has brought about major changes in the geological environment along the coast. Among these changes, there are changes that make the geological environment unfavorable to the production and life direction of mankind, such as destroying coastal facilities, eroded coastal areas, causing large-scale seawater intrusion and salinization of land. At the same time, we should also see that the storm surge has brought about another type of change in the surrounding environment: environmental cleanliness, sufficient water resources and the replenishment of underground brine resources.
