羊蹄甲是广东地区最常见的绿化观赏树.它终年常绿,枝繁叶茂,树冠粗大,遮荫效果好,粉红白色的花朵具清香,荚果饱满,多而下垂,一年四季都有观赏价值.羊蹄甲生长快,发枝力强,正形剪枝后能很快发出新枝,适宜城乡广泛栽植.羊蹄甲叶子含粗蛋白10.6%,粗脂肪5.1%,是猪、牛、羊、兔的好饲料.木材纹理长,材质硬,宜作农具和家具.用种子或扦插育苗.其苗也用作红花羊蹄甲的砧木.
