青海属“柴达木”地名在藏、汉、蒙古文献中多有所载。当下藏、蒙文著述及一些学者对“柴达木”地名的语源、语意存在不同的解读。藏文文献中对柴达木地名的记录存在不稳定性,汉文文献中提及的柴达木均与蒙古人的活动有关,而蒙古文献中所提到的青海属“柴达木”一词,为蒙古语常用地名,在蒙古人活动地区多有分布。“柴达木”一词的语源为蒙古语符合历史记载和地名学立名规律。
Qinghai is “Qaidam ” place names in Tibet, Han and Mongolia have more contained in the literature. At present, the study of Mongolian language and some scholars interpret the etymology and semantic meaning of the geographical names of “Qaidam” differently. There are some inconsistencies in the records of the Qaidam place names in the Tibetan literature. The Qaidam mentioned in the Chinese literatures are all related to Mongolian activities. However, the references to Qinghai in the Mongolian literature are “Qaidam” The term, Mongolian common names, in the Mongolian activities in the area are more distributed. “Qaidam ” The source for the Mongolian word in line with historical records and geographical names.
