Architectural education is always difficult to meet the requirements of the architect’s professional competence. In fact, the competence of this actual project can only be learned in the process of engineering. In other words, this is vocational training. In that case, is it necessary to train architects in the “Ivory Tower”? The essay aims to distinguish vocational training from education by tracing the connection between Eastern and Western humanistic traditions and university education. From this we can review the beginning and development of architectural education - the Royal Academy of France in the late 17th century and the later Paris Academy of Fine Arts in the 19th and early 20th centuries, and the true meaning and purpose of early architectural education. Borrow Zhuang Zi philosophy, the center of this article is to point out that the great use of construction education exists in its useless. This is the very book of architecture and humanity that we must understand today and treasure more. Its effectiveness far beyond the building to prevent storm use.
