尽管在过去的40年里已发现了许多无机晶体具有闪烁特性,但仍有兴趣继续寻找具有更好闪烁性能的化合物。然而,筛选化合物的实验一直局限在要得到合适质量和尺寸的晶体。我们提供一种用同步辐射加速器x线辐照来检测粉末样品荧光特性的方法,使所涉及到的化合物更多。本文给出了85种化合物用这种方法检测的结果,发现了几种具有闪烁性能的化合物,特别是CeF_3和PbCO_3。
Although many inorganic crystals have been found to have scintillation properties over the past 40 years, there is still interest in continuing to search for compounds with better scintillation properties. However, experiments to screen compounds have been limited to obtaining crystals of suitable quality and size. We provide a method for detecting the fluorescence characteristics of a powder sample using synchrotron radiation x-ray irradiation, which involves more compounds involved. This article gives the results of 85 compounds tested by this method and found several compounds with scintillation properties, especially CeF_3 and PbCO_3.
