From September 5 to September 9, 2000, the South African Ministry of National Defense and the Air Force successfully hosted the SAAF80 Air Show at the Waterloo Air Force Base in the capital of Belarus. The air show was specially held to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the South African Air Force. More than 30 countries and regions participated in the exhibition, of which African countries accounted for the majority.
