1-Phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoylpyrazolone-5 (PMBP) is currently recognized as an excellent beta dione chelating extractant and has been widely used in inorganic and radiochemical Separation analysis. Many studies have been done on the extraction of metal ions from nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid and perchloric acid solutions. However, extraction from acetic acid solution has not been reported in the literature so far. Many authors have reported that different types of extractants have better selectivity for extraction of metal ions from acetic acid systems than sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and nitric acid systems. As Moore studied TIOA-xylene extracted uranium (VI) and plutonium from acetic acid solution
