Calligraphy and traditional Chinese painting are both treasures of Chinese culture. They not only have their own independent artistic features, but also show the fusion features of aesthetic interest. Since ancient times, the concept of “homologous painting and calligraphy” has been deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. From the earliest Chinese characters, we can see concrete and abstract painting elements. Since the beginning of the new era, a group of middle-aged and young calligraphers who have grown up in the context of the integration of Chinese and Western cultures are deeply attracted to the concept of “homologous painting and calligraphy” and have made unremitting efforts in the long run. The special feature of this exhibition is that it adopts an interactive way of changing the roles of calligraphist and painter. The organizer invited 29 well-known painters and calligraphers with considerable artistic strength in Fujian Province to exhibit nearly 100 paintings and calligraphies. Many painters have created calligraphic works whose content is self-made poems and calligraphies. Most of the inscriptions on the works of calligraphies by Chinese calligraphers are mostly self-made poems, which undoubtedly increase the humanistic connotation of the exhibition. Due to the limited edition, this magazine only selected some of the works to readers.
