1978年,中华人民共和国和美利坚合众国举行建交谈判.这年的5月11日,《光明日报》以特约评论员的名义发表了题为《实践是检验真理的唯一标准》的文章,重申了实践是检验真理的唯一标准这个马克思主义认识论的基本原理,从根本理论上否定了“两个凡是”的错误方针,引起了全国上下广泛的注意,逐渐形成了一场全国性的大讨论.这场讨论,为克服多年来的“左”倾指导思想,恢复党的优良传统,按正确方向寻求中国自己的社会主义道路奠定了思想基础.
The People’s Republic of China and the United States of America held a diplomatic conference in 1978. On May 11 of this year, the Guangming Daily published an article entitled “Practice is the Only Standard for Verifying Truth” in the name of a special commentator, reiterating that practice Is the sole criterion for testing truth. The basic principle of this Marxist epistemology has denied the wrong principle of “two generalities” from the fundamental theory, aroused widespread attention throughout the country and gradually formed a nationwide big debate. The discussion laid the ideological foundation for overcoming the guiding ideology of “leftist” over the years, restoring the fine tradition of the party, and seeking China’s own socialist road in the right direction.
