抗日战争期间,京剧大师梅兰芳蓄须明志,拒不表演,名扬天下。京剧四大名旦之一的程砚秋则以另一种方式——诵经明志,来展示自己的民族气节。这幅照片就是他在当年诵经明志的地方——诵经堂的留影。1946年1月,《良友画报》的摄影记者康正平在著名画家溥心畲的引荐下,特意去拜访了程砚秋。
