According to a Kaiser engineer survey, the capacity of foreign LD converter steelmaking equipment has been raised from 46 million tons to 70 million tons. The current construction and planned construction of the factory shows that foreign LD converter production capacity in the past three years will increase to 120 million tons or more. In the United States, the equipment capacity of the LD converter plant has increased from 10 million tons a year ago to 17 million today. An additional 20 million tons are now planned, and by 1966 the total equipment capacity is estimated to be close to 37 million tons.
