魏沟大队位于静宁县西北部寒旱山区,海拔高度2190米,年降雨量450毫米左右,年平均气温5.5℃,大于10℃的有效积温为2200℃,绝对无霜期120天。全大队有5个生产队,112户,615人,232个劳动力,4103亩耕地,人均6.7亩。过去由于单一营粮食,广种薄收,农业发展缓慢,粮食产量低而不稳,社员生活十分困难。从1976年起,根据山区特点,因地制宜,逐年退耕了1100亩远山薄地,植树造林种草,走农林牧结合的道路。全大队留出耕地2675亩作为粮田,14亩用于育苗,260多亩地种经济作物,680亩种植紫花苜蓿、草木栖、高粱作饲草,实行草田轮作,农林牧互相促进,全面发展。三中全会以来,粮食总产平均达到42万斤,连续5年人均产粮900斤,口粮超过600斤,现在70％的户有余粮。林业方面,经多年
