路易斯·厄德里奇是美国当代文坛影响力最大、最多产的印第安本土作家。她的小说以描写印第安人的古老文化和生活为主。这些作品大都以生活在北美的印第安人生活为背景,展示和剖析了现代社会下印第安人的生存状态,其中重点描述了部族的生活习性、古老传说等。文章从传统与现代的结合、复调特征、魔幻现实主义三方面,分析厄德里奇小说的叙事特征。
Louise Erdrich is the most influential and prolific Native Indian writer in contemporary American literature. Her novels mainly describe the ancient Indian culture and life. Most of these works are based on the lives of Indians living in North America, displaying and analyzing the living conditions of Indians in modern society. The works mainly focus on the tribal life habits and ancient legends. The article analyzes the narrative features of Erdrich’s novels from the aspects of tradition and modernity, polyphonic features and magical realism.
