钮子七又名扣子七、定风草、珍儿参、珠子参,主产陕西南部各县及太白山区,是我省重要的“七药”之一。本品有镇惊熄风,舒筋活络,滋补气血的功效。据调查,钮子七原植物为五加科植物大叶三七[Panax pseudo-gin-seng Wall. var. japonicus (C.A.Mey.)G.Hoo.&C.J.Tseng];羽叶三七[P.var.bipinnatifidus(Seem.)H.L.Li.];秀丽三七[P.var.elegantior(Burkill)G.Hoo.&C.J.Tseng]三个变种。这些植物的串珠状根茎均称为钮子七,其中以分布较普遍的大叶三七为主要的药源植物,其叶称为参叶。钮子七含粗皂甙9.34%(商品)～9.62%(野生),有些含粗皂甙达16.71%(羽叶三七
The seven buttons are also known as button seven, windgrass, ginseng ginseng and bead ginseng.
