李天炳是福建漳州市华安县马坑乡的一位乡村摄影师,解放前他曾短期给一个为国民政府拍身份证照片的英国人打工做助手,从而对摄影产生了兴趣。一九四六年李天炳偷了家里的耕牛到城里卖掉,买得一台英国产的老式座机开始其摄影生涯。五十多年来他扛着这台老式座机翻山越岭, 走遍了闽西南的贫困山区为人民群众拍了几十万张照片。由于这些地区没有电力,他的底片冲晒和印相都是凭经验用自然光曝光的。李天炳用手控制家中的柴门开合来曝光,在烟囱下装上竹筒便成为印相片的放大机,在山泉中漂洗他的相片,他因此被收入吉尼斯世界纪录。李天炳的摄影记录了几十年来中国人生活和精神面貌的变迁,村民用朴素的民歌来歌唱他们的“天炳师傅”,对他们来说,天炳师傅代表的是一种传奇。
Li Tianbing was a rural photographer in Makeng Township, Hua’an County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. He had taken an interest in photography shortly before he liberated a British working as a photo shooter for the National Government. In 1946, Li Tianbing stole the cattle from his home and sold it to the city to buy a British-made old landline to start his career in photography. Over the past 50 years, he carried the old plane over the mountains and traveled to the impoverished mountainous areas in southwestern Fujian to photograph hundreds of thousands of people for the masses. Due to the lack of electricity in these areas, his negatives and prints were empirically experienced using natural light. Li Tian-bing used to control the opening and closing of the home Chai door to exposure, installed in the chimney bamboo tube has become a print magnifying glass, rinse his photos in the spring, he was therefore included in the Guinness Book of World Records. Li Tianbing’s photography records the changes in the lives and spirits of Chinese people over the past decades. The villagers sing their “heavenly masters” with simple folk songs. For them, the master represented by Master Bing is a legend.
