从一九五○年算起,由唐山往各地评剧团输送的名演员有韩少云,碧燕燕,花淑兰等二十一位;新凤霞等也都一度去唐山“镀金”。一些评剧演员对唐山是有深厚感情的;某些评剧团缺乏好演员时,也便想到了唐山。这是何故?有人说,唐山的评剧,味儿地道、演员地道。这话是不错的。唐山是评剧的发样地;自从评剧形成为一个异彩四射的剧种起,由唐山出去的演员,便在各地扎下根或撒下种子。唐山在评剧的发展史上,是值得大写特写的。据老艺人们谈,远在光绪二十六年,在唐山的一个叫做永盛茶园里,对口店山洛子,已经为群众所喜爱;后来对口洛子演变为“拆出”——化装说唱。宣统元年,一位开明的中产资本家王凤亭先生(现仍健在),在铁路公司和开滦矿务局的工人们出钱、出力支持下,又修建了新的永盛茶园(现改为新华电影
