“While without grammar, very little can be conveyed;without vocabulary, nothing can be conveyed.”
“While without grammar, very little can be conveyed;without vocabulary, nothing can be conveyed.”D.A. Wilkins, a famous British linguist, broke the vocabulary in the importance of language learning. Without enough vocabulary, language communication will not work properly. Although teachers and students all know the importance of vocabulary, vocabulary is still a weak link in English teaching. As a university teacher, we must first make students fully understand that vocabulary is the most basic material that constitutes a language. If the vocabulary is poor and words are ambiguous, it will cause obstacles in understanding and expression. Second, to see students’ difficulties in vocabulary learning, let students understand that the purpose of vocabulary learning is to master real English, learn to do the other way, learn vocabulary independently, and expand their vocabulary.
