2002年9月份的亚运会已迫在眉捷,日本无疑是中国的主要对手。日本田径近年来有了长足的进步,原来的传统项目男子链球持续走高,男女长跑和马拉松长盛不衰,男子跨栏、女子跳高有了世界级选手,2001年日本评出十名最佳运动员,链球世界亚军室伏广治位于首位。在十佳中,有9人参加了2001年世锦赛,5人创造了国家纪录,1人创造了世界最好成绩,其中马拉松运动员占了4名,表明日本马拉松的雄厚实力。 室伏广治(图1)在近4年里每年都入选十佳,名次由第五逐渐上升,这一次终于名列首位。室伏在过去的一年里创下了辉煌战绩:在埃德蒙顿世锦赛夺得银牌,在东亚运动会及友好运动会夺得金牌,在日本锦标赛连续第七
The Asian Games in September 2002 have been eagerly awaited, and Japan is undoubtedly the main rival of China.
