科技文献中出现大量缩写词汇,给情报翻译人员和文献工作者带来许多不便,以致时有错释词义的现象。为适应翻译和检索科技文献的需要,有助于对科技英语缩语进行辨析,现就其缩略方式、基本形态和辨析途径作一概述。缩语的缩略方式现代科技英语文献中的缩语已多达数以万计,任何缩写词典也难以囊括全部,确实给人们带来不少困难,真有不知所云之感。
A large number of acronyms appear in the scientific literature, which brings many inconveniences to intelligence translators and bibliographers. In order to meet the needs of translation and retrieval of scientific and technical documents, it is helpful to distinguish abbreviations of S & T English. The abbreviations, basic forms and ways of discrimination are summarized. Abbreviations of Slangs Up to tens of thousands of abbreviations have been found in modern scientific and technical English literature. Any abbreviation dictionary can hardly cover all of them. It does bring a lot of difficulties to people.
