1953年,潘彩凤出生于台湾台北市东南侧的南港农村。当时,台湾农村家庭多数是艰困而贫穷的,潘彩凤家亦是如此。作为家中长女,潘彩凤下有9个弟妹。她7岁即会以椅垫脚,用灶煮饭,还得做其他家务及照顾弟妹,亦需帮忙做收割、插秧、采茶等农事,她幼时的生活是很辛劳的。小学期间,潘彩凤每天从家出发,走一个多小时的山路才能到达学校,中途还会路过令小孩觉得恐怖的坟场。
In 1953, Pan Caifeng was born in Nangang rural south-east side of Taipei, Taiwan. At that time, most of Taiwan’s rural families were difficult and poor, as did Pan Caifeng. As the eldest daughter at home, Pan Caifeng has 9 siblings. When she was 7 years old, she would have to pad chair, cook in the stove, and have to do other housework and take care of her younger siblings. She also needed help in harvesting, transplanting, picking tea and other agricultural activities. Her childhood was very hardworking. During the elementary school, Pan Caifeng set off from home every day, took more than an hour to reach the school, and halfway through the cemetery where children felt horrible.
