2005年8月12日,来自英国、德国、加拿大、丹麦、瑞士等国的25名游客,不远万里,专程赶赴陕西煤城铜川,展开他们神往已久的“蒸汽机车怀旧游”。当蒸汽机车的汽笛悠然鸣响,白色蒸汽腾空而起时,这些外国游客激动不已,来自英国的特里尔先生赞叹道:“太美了太美了,这简直是一幅从历史深处驶来的油画。”在蒸汽机车铿锵有力而又富有节奏的行进声中,外国游客纷纷举起相机,操起DV,留下了一个又一个壮观的蒸汽机车运行画面……“从2000年铜川推出‘蒸汽机车怀旧游’项目以来,每年都有大量外国游客慕名前来观光,国内游客也越来越多。现在,这一尚不为国内许多人所知的旅游项目已成为我们铜川旅游业的一大拳头项目。”铜川市旅游局的谈先生介绍说。
