Observations of shelterbelts and windbreaks have demonstrated that the horizontal variations of the wind speed at the leeward of the shelterbelt caused by the friction of the shelterbelt abide by the law of logarithmic distribution,i.e.when the wind direction is perpendicular to the shelterbelt.Meanwhile, calculation of the relative parameters, the protecting methods and some examples of practical applications of the formula have also been described in the article.
