我今天从一个剧作者的角度,来谈谈我们的话剧、新歌剧、儿童剧创作中的一些问题。我想谈四个问题:一、谈谈话剧、新歌剧、儿童剧创作的成绩;二、谈谈戏剧创作中存在的缺点;三、谈谈产生这些缺点的原因;四、谈谈剧作家学习和修养的问题。在北京筹备“广州会议”的时候,周总理和陈毅同志曾经给我们讲过话。我曾经约了文化部和中国剧协的一部分同志一起务过虚,研究一下我们戏剧创作中存在的问题,交换了怎样解决这些问题的意见。我今天的讲话是根据我们的务虚和我个人的一些看法结合来谈的。
