OBJECTIVE: To investigate the differences of inflammatory markers such as white blood cell count (WBC), C-reactive protein (CRP) and procalcitonin (PCT) in patients with sepsis bacterial infection and their relationship with the severity of the disease. Methods: A retrospective analysis of 2015-01-2016-01 admitted to our hospital diagnosed as sepsis in patients with clinical data of 120 cases, the selected patients were positive for blood culture and bacterial infections. When analyzing the correlation between each index of inflammation and the severity of the disease, it was divided into early sepsis group, severe sepsis group and septic shock group according to the severity of the disease. The indexes of observation were the inflammatory indexes such as WBC, CRP and PCT Level, thus assessing the severity of these inflammatory indicators on the condition. Results: The CRP and PCT levels of sepsis in early sepsis group, severe sepsis group and septic shock group were significantly different (P <0.05). Conclusion: The level of PCT has guiding significance for the severity of sepsis in patients. Patients with higher PCT levels, the more serious the disease.
