Analysis of regional reservoir pressure in the Rocky Mountain region shows that abnormally high or ultrahigh-pressure oil and gas reservoirs are developed at deeper positions in various tectonic basins. Times from Late Devonian to early Tertiary, but the most developed in the Cretaceous rock. The deeper parts of the following basins in the Rocky Mountain region show regional overpressures in dense (low-permeability) and near-tight reservoirs: Williston, Prudential, Bighorn, Wind River, Hanna, the Great Green River, Juventa and the Piceance basin (Figure 1). Cretaceous reservoirs may have ultra-high pressure in the deep of the Kishangshan Basin. Pore pressure, often described as reservoir pressure, is often expressed as a pressure gradient in pounds per square inch and square feet (kPa). The so-called normal pressure gradient is about 0.43 lbs / ft (9.73 kPa / m) in freshwater reservoirs and about 0.5 lbs / ft (11.31 kPa / m) in the brine reservoir. In this study, if the pressure gradient is between freshwater and moderately saline water
