2003年3月3日,美国《财富》杂志公布了2003年度“全球最受赞赏的企业”评选结果,中国电信超过英国电信、法国电信和德国电信等欧洲国家的主体电信公司,位列“全球最受赞赏的电信企业”第9名,世界最受赞赏的亚洲地区(除日本外)企业第5名。这是中国企业上榜以来的最好成绩。这不能不使人联想到近年来电信行业改革的不断推进,和中国电信不断地被切分:移动切掉了,寻呼切掉了,北方的10家分公司也切掉了。然而,中国电信虽失去了独霸天下的地位,却再次赢得了世界的赞赏眼光。这与中国电信良好的市场竞争心态,以及从文化建设到业务创新等一系列品牌建设有极大的关系。因为,一个企业要在竞争环境中保持卓越,必须不断地吸取经验、进行创新,必须不断探究并遵循市场规律,以一种良好的心态应对竞争。
On March 3, 2003, Fortune magazine released the 2003 “Most Admired Companies in the World” selection result. China Telecom surpassed the major telecom companies in European countries such as BT, France Telecom and Deutsche Telekom.
