东风汽车联营公司所属的新疆汽车厂用二汽生产的汽车零部件、总成件成批装配东风140型汽车,这些零部件、总成件由二汽以CKD(散发件)形式用火车运往新疆。由于路途遥远,运输费用昂贵,使汽车成本提高。为解决车皮多装以降低运输费用,除合理地进行车皮编排外,主要途径是采用经济实用的集装器具。对一些大的汽车总成件,采用集装器具尤为重要。从这点出发,笔者于84年上半年设计了三种适合于火车、汽车运输以及仓库堆放的折叠式和拼拆式集装器具,即汽车发动机总成集装器具、汽车前桥总成集装器具和汽车后桥总成集装器具。东风汽车联营公司于84年10月17日对这三大汽车总成集装器具进行了从湖北十堰至新疆乌鲁木齐
