陈时(1891—1953),字叔澄,湖北省黄陂县陈家中湾人。1907年留学日本,1909年加入中国同盟会。先后在日本东京宏文书院、中央大学、早稻田大学、庆应大学学习,获法学士学位。1911年春回国。辛亥革命后任湖北军政府财政司秘书。次年5月支持其父——晚清进士陈宣恺创办中国第一所私立大学——武昌中华大学,父任校长。1917年父死,陈时继任校长,抗战时学校迁往重庆,胜利后迁回武昌原址。武汉解放前夕,参加湖北和平运动。民国时期曾担任教育部特种教育委员、世界教育会议委员、中国教育学会理事、湖北省议会议员、国民参政员、国大代表。新中国成立后加入民革,任湖北省政协委员和土改委员会委员,并被选为省人民政府委员。在土地改革运动中,被错判刑12年(缓刑2年)。1953年病故于武昌。1984年6月平反。遗著有《政党论》、《南洋游记》等。
Chen Shicheng (1891-1953), the word uncle, Cheng Huang, Huang County, Hubei Province in the Bay. 1907 to study in Japan, joined the Chinese league in 1909. He successively studied at Hongwen College in Tokyo, Japan, Chuo University, Waseda University and Keio University and obtained a bachelor’s degree in law. Spring returned in the spring of 1911. After the Revolution of 1911 he served as Hubei military government finance secretary. May the following year to support his father - the late Qing Chen Xuan Kai founded China’s first private university - Wuchang China University, the father of the president. When his father died in 1917, Chen succeeded him as president. When the war was over, the school relocated to Chongqing and moved back to the site of Wuchang after the victory. On the eve of the liberation of Wuhan, Hubei participated in the peace movement. During the Republic of China, he served as a special education commissioner of the Ministry of Education, a member of the World Education Conference, a director of the Chinese Education Association, a member of Hubei Provincial Assembly, a national staff member and the National Assembly. After the founding of New China, he joined the Revolutionary Committee and served as a member of CPPCC Hubei Provincial Committee and member of the Agrarian Reform Commission and was elected as a member of the Provincial People’s Government. In the agrarian reform movement, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison (suspended for 2 years). 1953 died in Wuchang. Reversal in June 1984. Left with the “political party”, “Southeast Asia travel” and so on.
