BigBlue and MutaTMMouse are two kinds of transgenic mice with the most accumulated data in the field of mutagenesis. Their genomes were introduced into the E. coli lacI and lacZ genes through the lambda vector respectively. In vitro screening of lacI and lacZ mutants can detect the spontaneous mutation rates and induced mutations in all organs by extracting organ DNA.
